109 housing association units are due to commence on site in 2010 for Dunedin Canmore. The site lies to the south west of Edinburgh City Centre and is located within a high density built up urban area on a major arterial route into the city. The proposed development has been carefully designed to reflect the Edinburgh tradition of high density residential tenement buildings which strongly define street edges. As such, the design was determined to reflect the strong character of the surrounding tenement architecture on Gorgie Road, whilst replicating and enhancing the curved geometry of both the road and the facing block.
